distiller’s
apprentice

As a distiller’s apprentice, qualified candidates will have a passion for the spirits industry and a basic understanding of how fine spirits are made. This highly important position will be working directly with Mission Spirits founder and master distiller, Jay Wheeler, learning how Mission Spirits are made and how the business is run. This candidate will need to grasp all facets of the business from distillation & fermentation to sales & mixology. The distiller’s apprentice should be prepared for a steep learning curve and be able to understand concepts quickly. Candidates should be prepared for non-regular & long hours. Successful apprentices will be promoted to full time Distillers, General Managers, or other leadership positions.

bartender

Mission Spirits head bartender will manage the Mission Spirits Tasting room bar, bar menu, cocktail experience, and curate signature mixers, flavors & tinctures. The head bartender role is a leadership position that will manage fellow bar staff. Qualified candidates should have experience as a mixologist or bartender serving fine cocktails in a restaurant environment and be prepared to craft a menu, signature drinks, and unique tasting room experiences. The Head Bartender should be prepared to learn about the facets of our fermentation and distillation practice and understand how our flavors are crafted. A Successful Head Bartender will have opportunities to be promoted to a General Manager, or other leadership positions.

director of operations

As Mission Spirits Director of Operations, qualified candidates should have a passion for the hospitality/event industry and be a customer service expert. Our Director of Operations position is a multifaceted leadership position that will manage service staff, plan events & customer experiences, as well as serve as account manager for distillery sales. Successful candidates will have experience as a Maître D’, host, event manager, or other front of house position at a restaurant with aspirations for more. The Director candidate should be prepared to understand the Mission Spirits brand identity and help evolve our customer experiences in the future. A successful Director will have an opportunity to be promoted to General Manager, or other leadership positions.

Bartender

Mission spirits bartenders will not only serve craft cocktails, but also, be excited and passionate about the experiences we will offer in house. We ask more of our bartenders that usual, we expect our bartending team to understand the flavor profiles of our spirits as well as the process of how we create those flavors. We expect our bar-staff to actively contribute to the cocktail menu and offer ideas for new customer experiences on and off site.
